Job Title: Panel Builder Job Description We are seeking a skilled Panel Builder for a 1st shift position, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturdays from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This role is based in Grand Rapids and Plymouth with three openings available. Responsibilities Panel Layout & Assembly: Lay out and assemble intricate electrical panels according to engineering prints and customer specifications.
Wiring & Integration: Cut, route, and bundle cables from machine components to main electrical enclosures and terminals. Junction Boxes: Fabricate custom mounting brackets and wire junction boxes to ensure reliable system connections. System Component Labeling: Use computerized marking systems and portable label printers to clearly identify wires and cables. Testing & Troubleshooting: Utilize multimeters, scopemeters, and ac/dc probes to diagnose and debug electrical panel issues.
Collaborative Commissioning: Work alongside machine builders and electrical engineers during mechanical debug and system integration phases. Field Service Support: Disassemble completed systems for shipment to customer facilities, reinstall, rewire, and test machinery. Essential Skills Proficiency in panel wiring. Basic understanding of blueprints and schematics. Experience in using hand tools. Ability to wire junction boxes.
Five years of experience in machine building. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electrical wiring and schematic reading. Skills in building panels and electrical assembly. Competence in print reading and blueprint understanding. TIG welding and mechanical assembly skills. Why Work Here? The custom machine builder environment supports products built from cradle to grave, involving the fab shop, CNC department, machine build, and paint stages. The facility promotes a collaborative and innovative atmosphere.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
