Job Title: Panel Builder / Electrical Assembler Job Description The Panel Builder / Electrical Assembler assembles, wires, and tests electrical control panels according to schematics, layout drawings, and specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, precise attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial automation environment.

You will contribute to the fabrication and assembly of high-quality control panels while supporting engineers and project teams on-site in Addison, IL. Responsibilities Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and layout drawings to determine assembly and wiring requirements. Assemble electrical control panels, including mounting and installing components such as circuit breakers, relays, PLCs, terminal blocks, and related hardware.

Perform point-to-point wiring of control panels, ensuring proper routing, termination, and secure connections for all conductors. Label wires, terminals, and components accurately to meet documentation and quality standards. Inspect completed panels visually and electrically to verify functionality, quality, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications. Use electrical testing equipment to perform basic functional tests and troubleshoot issues in assembled panels.

Collaborate with engineers and project personnel to resolve technical issues and clarify design or wiring questions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety protocols and best practices. Document work performed, including updates to records and build documentation, to ensure accurate project tracking. Handle and operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during panel assembly and fabrication tasks.

Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years of experience in panel building or electrical assembly, preferably in an industrial automation environment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment. Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during the workday. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical training in electrical assembly or a related field is preferred. Experience with industrial control panel wiring practices is a plus. Familiarity with UL standards related to industrial control panels is an advantage. Comfort working in a panel building and fabrication environment.

Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift role working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The position is based on-site in a panel building and fabrication environment within two adjoining facilities totaling approximately 12,000 square feet, with plans for continued growth. The work is hands-on and shop-based, involving regular use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment in an industrial setting where you will be on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
