Job Title: Product Engineer Job Description The Product Engineer designs, develops, and supports low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems, focusing on reliable integration of electrical and control components. This role creates detailed electrical documentation, programs and troubleshoots controller systems, and ensures products comply with relevant industry codes and standards. The Product Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable, and high-performance solutions for power generation, industrial electrical, and control system applications.

Responsibilities Design and support low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems for power generation, industrial electrical, and control system applications. Specify and integrate electrical components such as circuit breakers, contactors, relays, sensors, voltage regulators, control panels, and wiring harnesses. Develop detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams using CAD tools such as AutoCAD.

Program, test, and troubleshoot controller systems to ensure reliable and safe operation. Integrate PLC and SCADA systems and interface them with auxiliary systems such as automatic transfer switches (ATS), building management systems (BMS), and other related systems. Configure system logic, alarms, protections, and remote monitoring capabilities to meet functional and safety requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Service to ensure product designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

Provide engineering support for custom product configurations and special customer requirements. Create and maintain technical documentation including bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, test plans, and installation guides. Ensure products comply with applicable codes and standards such as UL2200, NFPA, and CSA. Support UL and other certification testing activities as well as customer inspection processes.

Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. 1+ years of engineering experience in power generation, industrial electrical systems, or control systems preferred. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across electro-mechanical systems. Proficiency with electrical design software and tools, including AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms.

Ability to read, interpret, and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic documentation. Programming experience with PLCs, HMI, or SCADA systems. Ability to program, test, and troubleshoot controller systems and integrated control architectures. Understanding of industry codes and standards such as UL2200, NFPA, and CSA, and how they apply to product design and testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience integrating PLC/SCADA systems with auxiliary systems such as ATS and BMS.

Experience configuring system logic, alarms, protections, and remote monitoring functions. Familiarity with creating and maintaining product documentation including BOMs, test plans, and installation guides. Experience supporting certification testing processes and customer inspections. Comfort working with cross-functional teams to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability considerations. Strong mechanical aptitude to support the integration of electrical and mechanical components within products.

Work Environment The Product Engineer works in a technical, engineering-focused environment that combines office-based design work with occasional interaction on the production floor and in test or certification settings. The role involves frequent use of CAD tools such as AutoCAD for developing schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams, as well as programming and testing PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.

The engineer collaborates regularly with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Service teams to support product development and cu
