The Product Marketing Engineer evaluates the commercial feasibility of proposed solutions in close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams, ensuring that proposals align with current designs, capabilities, and cost structures. Responsibilities Develop accurate, competitive quotations for complex capital equipment, system upgrades, and engineering solutions that meet customer requirements and business objectives.
Ensure all quotations reflect strong technical accuracy and commercial soundness, aligning proposals with current product designs and manufacturing capabilities. Maintain and update pricing frameworks and cost models to support the overall business strategy and drive profitable growth across product and service offerings. Perform margin analyses to ensure pricing consistency and profitability across different products, services, and customer segments.
Evaluate the commercial feasibility of proposed solutions by analyzing costs, pricing structures, and expected margins. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams to confirm that proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with existing capabilities. Review and interpret bills of materials (BOMs) to support accurate cost estimates and quotation development.
Use CPQ and ERP tools, including SAP or similar systems, to generate quotations and manage pricing and configuration data. Support continuous improvement of quoting and pricing processes to increase speed, accuracy, and competitiveness in responding to customer opportunities. Ensure that pricing and quotation practices remain consistent with internal policies and support long-term business growth.
Essential Skills Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. 5+ years of experience in capital equipment or semiconductor manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience working with bills of materials (BOMs), including BOM generation and interpretation. Strong background in manufacturing and capital equipment, with an understanding of complex systems and components. Experience in semiconductor-related manufacturing processes and equipment is highly valuable.
Proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems to manage pricing, costs, and configuration data. Demonstrated job quoting and pricing experience for complex equipment and engineering solutions. Experience using CPQ tools (such as Pro Quote or similar) to configure products and generate accurate quotations. Solid mechanical engineering understanding to interpret designs and align technical solutions with customer needs.
Ability to analyze cost models and margins to support pricing decisions and profitable growth. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with capital equipment in semiconductor manufacturing environments. Familiarity with CPQ platforms, including configuration, pricing, and quotation workflows. background in mechanical engineering that supports collaboration with design and engineering teams.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating pricing frameworks, cost structures, and margin analyses. Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams.
