Production Operator

Job Title: Production Operator Job Description The Production Operator supports daily manufacturing operations by loading and unloading materials, assisting machine operators, and sorting small, lightweight parts into crates. This role plays a key part in keeping production lines running efficiently, safely, and on schedule. Responsibilities Load and unload materials and parts to support continuous production flow.

Assist machine operators with setup, operation, and basic adjustments as needed. Sort small, lightweight parts into crates accurately and efficiently. Handle crates that may become heavy once filled with parts, following proper lifting and safety procedures. Perform general labor tasks to support production, including cleaning work areas and organizing materials. Operate production machinery and equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.

Conduct basic assembly and packaging tasks to prepare products for shipment. Use hand tools as required for production, assembly, or minor adjustments. Inspect parts and products for quality, identifying defects or inconsistencies and reporting issues promptly. Read and interpret simple blueprints or work instructions to ensure correct processing of parts. Follow all safety rules, including wearing required protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and safety glasses.

Maintain a high level of productivity while working overtime hours as needed to meet production demands. Essential Skills Experience in production or manufacturing environments. Ability to assist with machine operation and follow operating procedures. Background in general labor, including loading, unloading, and material handling. Experience with assembly tasks in a production setting. Capability to perform pick and pack activities accurately and efficiently.

Basic packaging and inspection skills to support quality standards. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Comfort with reading and following basic blueprints or work instructions. Willingness and ability to work overtime, typically 50–60 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. Ability to lift and move heavy crates safely when they are filled with parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a machine operator, laborer, or in similar production roles.

Prior exposure to forklift operation in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Familiarity with quality inspection practices in a production setting. Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and schedules. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting, packaging, and inspection. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $16.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend
