Job Title: QC Scientist II Job Description We are seeking a talented and motivated QC Scientist II to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical tests in accordance with specified compendia or specifications for APIs, starting materials, packaging components, and finished products. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently and contribute effectively in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities Perform qualitative, quantitative chemical, and physical testing as specified by compendia or specifications for APIs, starting materials, packaging components, and finished products. Conduct peer reviews of analytical testing documentation and resolve discrepancies. Complete and conduct required training according to the laboratory curriculum. Maintain laboratory data in an orderly manner in laboratory notebooks, worksheets, and documents.

Re-validate chemistry methods and work with HPLC, GC, Wet Chemistry, and more. Author technical reports for analytical methods improvement. Perform investigational, troubleshooting, and advanced analytical techniques to troubleshoot approved commercial analysis. Demonstrate knowledge of critical functions and variables for each type of equipment and exhibit instrument troubleshooting ability. Work independently using a team approach to accomplish assigned tasks.

Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Essential Skills Experience in dilutions, sample preparation, and biochemistry. Strong experience in quality control and chemistry. Proficiency in GC analysis and working within GMP and FDA-regulated environments. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific field, with preference given to Chemistry or Biochemistry degrees.

2-3+ years of industry Chemistry Lab experience. Prior experience with HPLC or GC, with strong experience in at least one. Experience in quality assurance and conducting investigations. Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with supervision using scientific judgment and professional competency.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a regulated environment is highly desirable. Work Environment This position operates within a fast-paced environment, working both in the quality group and occasionally in the manufacturing area. The work schedule is a 2nd shift, Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with some flexibility. The role will remain on a 5x8 schedule with little to no overtime.

Training will initially occur on the first shift for the first month or two. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
