Job Title: Quality Assurance Associate Job Description We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Quality Administrator – Level 1 to join a growing quality assurance team within a manufacturing environment. In this entry-level role, you will work closely with quality engineers, compliance specialists, and production staff to manage document logs, organize quality data, and support daily inspection workflows.
This is a hands-on opportunity to build foundational knowledge in quality management systems, support compliance requirements, and contribute to an efficient, audit-ready operation. Responsibilities Maintain, organize, and update quality records, travelers, inspection logs, and standard operating procedures in both physical files and the quality management system. Perform document control activities to ensure accurate, current, and properly stored quality documentation.
Assist the quality team with preparing inspection packets and gathering calibration records needed for inspections and audits. Organize documentation for internal and external audits to ensure completeness and accessibility. Compile daily scrap logs, non-conformance reports, and basic yield metrics into standardized spreadsheets or database trackers. Receive, label, and log incoming sample parts, test coupons, and quality supplies, maintaining an organized and clean work area.
Support continuous improvement activities by participating in plant 5S, administrative housekeeping, and Lean initiatives to keep the quality office and archives organized and audit-ready. Strictly comply with all safety rules, data security protocols such as ITAR and CMMC guidelines, and company standard operating procedures. Coordinate with production and engineering teams regarding missing paperwork, traveler corrections, or non-conformance logging to ensure smooth workflow.
Assist, under the direction of senior staff, with routing customer documentation requests and collecting vendor certificates of analysis from external partners. Collaborate daily with quality management and senior quality staff to receive task assignments, document control guidance, and mentorship for professional growth. Essential Skills Experience or strong interest in quality assurance and document control within a manufacturing or technical environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints sufficiently to support quality documentation and inspection workflows. Basic understanding of quality management systems and quality assurance principles. Proficiency in data entry and maintaining organized records in both physical and electronic formats. Ability to generate and update reports, including scrap logs, non-conformance reports, and yield metrics, using spreadsheets or database tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation and quality data. Ability to follow established procedures and strictly adhere to safety rules and data security protocols such as ITAR and CMMC guidelines. Effective communication skills to work with quality management, production, engineering teams, and occasionally vendors and customers. Organizational skills to manage multiple documents, sample parts, and quality supplies in a structured and efficient manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality standards used in aerospace and high-reliability manufacturing environments. Exposure to or understanding of Lean principles and 5S practices in an office or production setting. Comfort working with standardized spreadsheets, databases, or quality software tools for reporting and tracking. Interest in building a career in quality assurance, compliance, or manufacturing operations.
