Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description As a Quality Technician, you are responsible for monitoring and inspecting products on the production line to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. Your day is spent verifying that production processes and personnel follow work instructions, are using properly calibrated equipment, and are maintaining a safe work environment.
You play a key role in identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and escalating quality issues to prevent defective products from reaching the customer. Responsibilities Monitor and inspect products on the production line to ensure compliance with quality standards. Verify that production processes and personnel adhere to work instructions. Ensure the use of properly calibrated equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
Identify and segregate non-conforming materials. Escalate quality issues to prevent defective products from reaching customers. Essential Skills Expertise in inspection, quality control, and quality inspection. Proficiency in visual inspection and visual quality inspection. Strong documentation skills. Ability to troubleshoot effectively. Experience with tools such as calipers, blueprints, and micrometers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Quality inspection and documentation experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Attention to detail. Work in a climate-controlled production area that ensures comfort year-round. Work Environment The shop environment may have smells like oil or transmission fluid, with some dirty and slippery areas. However, it is climate controlled year-round at the Servite Drive location, which is in a restructured Walmart. Multiple lines are dedicated to specific business needs, such as Lines A & B for different transmissions and the 6L Line for remanufacturing GM 6L transmissions, which is uniform and fast-paced.
The first shift runs from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The dress code includes steel toes, safety glasses, and earplugs. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
