Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector performs dimensional inspections on aerospace components, sets up and operates basic inspection equipment, and determines part acceptance or rejection based on established requirements and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards. This role supports other departments by accurately recording inspection results and contributing to quality control and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities Perform basic dimensional inspections on aerospace parts, including linear dimensions, hole size, outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), and related features. Independently set up inspection equipment and fixtures for a variety of dimensional checks. Interpret and apply ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspections. Analyze facts and circumstances surrounding individual inspection problems to determine whether parts meet requirements.

Make clear and accurate acceptance or rejection decisions for parts based on inspection results and specifications. Use calipers, micrometers, and other mechanical inspection tools to verify part dimensions. Review and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand inspection criteria and tolerances. Perform inspections using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) when required, for more complex measurements.

Record inspection results in an organized and accurate manner to assist other departments in their analysis and research.
