The Repack Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the sealer, box former, and flex picker in a safe and efficient manner according to quality specification sheets, customer satisfaction, and company policy.
Must be able to direct the packaging team’s workflow with the Repack Specialist. Your day-to-day may consist of: Set up, change, and monitor recipes and code dates on laser and flex picker equipment, ensuring accuracy and legibility. Troubleshoot mechanical problems, sanitize assigned equipment, and communicate technical or product issues promptly to supervisors and maintenance staff. Coordinate product hold decisions, changeovers, and routine tasks with the Repack Specialist, Production Supervisor, and packing team.
Direct and train packaging employees, oversee crew break rotations, and maintain required supplies (boxes, glue, etc.). Ensure compliance with GMP/safety guidelines, maintain a clean work area, and accurately complete code date audits. This role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration throughout various facility areas.
This role also regularly engages in prolonged standing, walking, communicating, and sensory tasks throughout each shift, while frequently handling objects, climbing, balancing, and performing various physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as part of job duties. The use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required.
Available Shift: 3rd Shift (10PM-6AM) Monday-Friday, shift differential offered. What you’ll need to be successful. High school diploma or equivalent 6+ months of experience working in food manufacturing, 12+ months in food manufacturing strongly preferred Maintains a continuous learning mindset and adapts quickly to new equipment, processes, and roles. Demonstrates strong technical ability with a digital-first approach, embracing new technologies and accurately entering data.
Communicates clearly with all levels of the organization, follows instructions (written/oral/diagram form), and completes necessary documentation independently in English. Pays close attention to detail, prioritizing product quality, safety, and accurate record-keeping. Physically capable of meeting job requirements and consistently brings a positive, team-focused attitude to work. Demonstrates adaptability, technical proficiency, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills while working independently or collaboratively to ensure effective and logical decision-making in diverse situations.
Demonstrates the physical capability to bend frequently and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), alongside proficiency in safely operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to support workplace operations.
