Job Title: Robotics Engineer II Job Description The Robotics Engineer II develops, programs, and integrates robotic systems used in automated manufacturing and testing environments. This role supports new machine builds, system startups, commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and field service efforts, while also contributing to PLC and HMI programming. You collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution from concept through startup.

Responsibilities Program, configure, and integrate industrial robots for automated equipment and machine applications. Develop robot programs using established standards, templates, and best practices while meeting project timelines. Create robotic simulations and offline programming models to validate cell layouts, robot reach, and cycle times. Integrate robotic systems with PLCs, machine vision systems, safety controls, and industrial networks.

Ensure robotic cells meet applicable safety standards and participate in risk assessment activities. Lead robotic system startups, machine commissioning, installation support, and troubleshooting efforts at customer sites. Provide technical support to manufacturing, machine build, and field service teams throughout project lifecycles. Assist with PLC and HMI programming during machine builds, upgrades, and startup activities.

Train and support field service personnel and mentor junior engineers as needed. Work directly with customers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and drive project success. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear communication and thorough documentation. Independently manage robotic automation projects from design through commissioning, including field installations and customer startups.

Contribute to robotic cell design, simulation, and commissioning activities. Support integration of machine vision systems, including 2D and 3D applications, into robotic cells. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. Typically 3–5 years of experience in robotics programming, automation, machine integration, or commissioning.

Strong experience programming industrial robots, preferably Fanuc, including simulation and offline programming. Experience with robotic cell design, simulation, and commissioning. Familiarity with robotic simulation software such as ROBOGUIDE or similar tools. Experience integrating robots with machine vision systems, including 2D and 3D vision applications. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial automation systems; Siemens PLC experience is beneficial.

Understanding of industrial networking protocols such as EtherNet/IP and Profinet. Experience with servo systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and robotic peripheral equipment. Working knowledge of pneumatic systems and end-of-arm tooling; hydraulic experience is a plus. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and electrical prints and apply this knowledge to system troubleshooting.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation and integration issues. Effective communication and customer-facing skills for onsite support, training, and project coordination. Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25–35% of the time. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or automated equipment environments.

Background in machine vision integration within robotic cells. Experience supporting field installations, customer startups, and onsite commissioning activities. Ability to independently lead robotic integration efforts from concept through startup. Comfort working hands-on with complex automation equipment in both shop and customer site environments. Ability to manage multiple concurrent pro
