Job Title: Scale Operations Clerk Job Description The Scale Operations Clerk is responsible for accurately processing inbound and outbound truck transactions in an industrial environment, handling approximately 30-50 trucks per day. This role involves verifying scale tickets, weights, trailer numbers, vendor information, and shipment details while providing customer service to drivers and visitors.
Responsibilities Process truck weigh-ins and weigh-outs using a computerized scale management system. Verify tickets, weights, trailer numbers, hauler information, and vendor records for accuracy. Enter and maintain shipment data in a Windows-based system. Review and double-check documentation before submission. Assist drivers and provide professional customer service. Answer phones, file paperwork, and maintain organized records.
Support additional clerical or light operational duties as needed. Essential Skills Data entry experience. Clerical and logistics knowledge. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and handling large volumes of paperwork. Ability to remain professional when interacting with frustrated or tired drivers. Basic computer proficiency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in data entry, administrative roles, logistics, transportation, or customer service is preferred.
Ability to work in an industrial or plant environment. Work Environment The role requires working in an office setting within an industrial environment. Once trained and familiar with the processes, the clerk will work independently in the office. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
