Job Title: Second Shift Supervisor Job Description The Second Shift Supervisor oversees daily steel fabrication and welding operations during the second shift. This role is crucial for ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company quality standards. The Supervisor will lead and develop production employees with a strong emphasis on safety, productivity, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate second shift steel fabrication operations. Lead, train, mentor, and develop fabrication personnel. Manage employee performance, documentation, and disciplinary processes when necessary. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Maintain quality standards and ensure accurate production documentation. Promote a safe and productive work environment.
Support production scheduling and shop efficiency initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of steel fabrication and welding experience. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of AISC standards and quality standards. Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
Experience with welding, material handling, equipment operation, and equipment maintenance. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and project management. Ability to handle grinders and pipe welding. Experience in construction management. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in a clean, well-lit structural metal fabrication shop, primarily during the second shift, Monday to Friday, from 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM, with potential overtime until 3:00 AM and occasional Saturday hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
