Job Title: Sheet Metal Technician Job Description Join a leading provider of commercial HVAC and mechanical services as a skilled Sheet Metal Technician. You will be part of an expanding commercial installation team, delivering high-quality mechanical solutions across the Ottawa region. The role involves working in various commercial environments, focusing on HVAC ductwork installation. Responsibilities Install commercial HVAC duct systems including supply, return, and exhaust ductwork.

Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using shop and field tools. Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal to precise dimensions. Seal, fasten, and support ductwork in accordance with SMACNA standards. Perform field modifications and custom fitting as required on job sites. Maintain compliance with safety protocols and site regulations.

Collaborate with HVAC installers and project teams to ensure efficient project execution. Essential Skills 3-5 years experience in commercial sheet metal installation. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, duct installation, and sheet metal fabrication. Valid Working at Heights & Scissor and Boom Lifts certification. 308 Licensed Sheet Metal Technician or apprentice level. Additional Skills & Qualifications Brazing TSSA Certification.

Work Environment Work predominantly in commercial environments such as schools, government facilities, and banks within the Ottawa region. The shifts are Monday through Friday, with overtime available. Typical work hours range from 8.5 hours a day starting at 7 or 8 AM and ending at 3:30 or 4:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nepean, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
