Job Title: Shop Helper Job Description Join our team as a shop helper where you will operate manual machines and perform welding tasks while receiving comprehensive training. Your role will involve quality inspection of machined parts using calipers and micrometers, grinding and deburring, manual lathe and mill operation, cleaning and maintenance, assisting with shipping and receiving, and operating forklifts to transport materials and finished parts.
Responsibilities Assist with operating manual machines and welding tasks. Conduct quality inspections of machined parts utilizing calipers and micrometers. Perform grinding and deburring tasks. Operate manual lathe and mill. Maintain cleanliness and perform maintenance tasks. Assist with shipping and receiving operations. Operate forklifts to transport materials and finished parts. Essential Skills Experience or training in CNC operation.
Proficiency in part inspection using calipers and micrometers. Skill in grinding and deburring. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manual machining. Welding skills of any kind. Familiarity with Bridgeport mills. Experience with manual lathes. Forklift operating experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
