Job Description: Structural Test Technician As a Structural Test Technician, you will play a vital role within an interdisciplinary team, performing a variety of testing procedures including static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, and vibration testing. Your work will encompass testing a diverse range of items, from small integrated electronic systems to large aircraft fuselages and structures. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining essential testing equipment, thereby contributing to the validation of design decisions.
Responsibilities Execute static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, and vibration testing as part of an interdisciplinary team. Test items ranging from small integrated electronics systems to large fuselages, primary and secondary structures. Operate and maintain thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems, and structural testing equipment like Instron equipment. Build test equipment and execute test procedures to inform and validate design decisions.
Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed. Travel to test sites as required. Essential Skills 2-4 years of professional experience in an engineering technician capacity or similar. Experience in preparing and executing test procedures with high levels of attention to detail. Demonstrated hands-on fabrication and assembly skills. Instrumentation installation and checkout experience, including strain gauge application, sensor calibration, thermocouple install, and cable harness assembly.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, flexible team environment. U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data and material science. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with hydraulic pressure equipment, shaker tables, load testing, and Instron specialized testing equipment. Proficiency in using cranes and lifting configuration equipment in a testing lab environment.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
