1st Class Marine Structural Welders Bremerton, WA Start Date: September 21, 2026 Aerotek is currently seeking 4 experienced 1st Class Marine Structural Welders to support work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Bremerton, WA. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major U.S. Navy modernization project with work projected through March 2028 . Local Washington Welders are strongly encouraged to apply.

Pay & Per Diem $32.00 - $34.00/hour DOE $178/day Per Diem Per diem paid on eligible workdays only Overtime opportunities may be available based on production requirements Note: Candidates are responsible for their own travel expenses, lodging, and transportation. Job Duties Perform structural welding repairs, alterations, and modernization work aboard U.S.
Navy aircraft carriers. Weld carbon steel structural components, foundations, supports, and shipboard steel assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints, NAVSEA drawings, welding procedures, and work packages. Perform SMAW (Stick) and FCAW (Dual Shield) welding in multiple positions. Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and active shipyard environments. Support repair, maintenance, and modernization efforts aboard naval vessels.
Maintain quality standards in accordance with NAVSEA specifications and shipyard requirements. Follow all shipyard safety, environmental, and security procedures. Qualifications Previous marine structural welding experience preferred. Proficient in SMAW (Stick) and FCAW (Dual Shield) welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding drawings, and technical specifications. Experience working in shipyards, naval repair, vessel construction, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
Experience welding carbon steel structural components. Must be capable of passing NAVSEA welding qualifications. Strong understanding of shipboard safety and quality standards. Security Requirements This work is performed on a secure U.S. Navy installation. Candidates must be able to obtain: DBIDS Credential NAVSEA Badge Access authorization for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and assigned vessels Applicants must be eligible to meet all base and ship access requirements.
Weld Test Requirement Candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment following resume review and client approval. To remain employed, candidates must successfully pass the required weld test within their first two days onsite. Failure to pass testing will result in removal from the project. Why This Opportunity? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.
