Structural Welder

Structural Welder $44/hr Job Description Join our team as a Structural Welder, where you will engage in production welding for data cooling centers. With three distinct projects underway, your welding techniques will vary slightly across them, including FCAW and GMAW welding of light gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. While fitting assistance is provided, comfort with independent fitting is advantageous.

Responsibilities Perform FCAW and GMAW welding on light gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Engage in skid welding as part of production processes. Read and interpret blueprints accurately to carry out welding tasks. Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Participate in overtime work on weekdays and weekends as required. Lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds during work activities.

Utilize shears and press brakes as needed. Maintain a clean-shaven appearance and wear a respirator when necessary. Essential Skills Journeyman Welder certification or 3rd year apprentice status. CWB FCAW or GMAW 1 position certification (acceptable if recently expired). Proficiency in flux core and MIG welding techniques. Ability to multitask effectively in a manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with fitting is a plus.

Work Environment Work on the third shift from 9:45pm to 6:15am, Monday through Friday.

A comprehensive four-day orientation includes classroom learning and an on-the-job evaluation. Orientation is available in the morning from 7am to 3pm and in the afternoon from 3pm to 11pm. Our brand-new shop is immaculate, ensuring a pleasant work atmosphere. Employees receive eight hours of paid work per shift, including two paid 15-minute shuttle periods, one paid 15-minute rest break, and one unpaid 30-minute meal break.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $44.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
