Job Title: Test Technician Job Description The Test Technician is responsible for executing electrical system and subsystem testing on vehicle components and assemblies. This role involves setting up and operating test equipment, collecting and validating data, and supporting engineers in evaluating electrical performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical system and subsystem testing according to engineering test procedures.
Utilize diagnostic and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltmeters, current probes, and data acquisition systems. Set up instrumentation and data acquisition equipment to measure voltage, current, and performance metrics across multiple components. Execute custom-built electrical tests, including fuse compatibility and performance validation testing. Install and configure test fixtures, wire test articles, and prepare vehicles or components for testing.
Collect, review, and document test data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Work closely with test engineers to verify results and ensure testing objectives are met. Maintain detailed test logs and records of activities, observations, and results. Qualifications Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting. Proficiency using oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltmeters, and other electronic test equipment.
Ability to interpret test procedures, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation. Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation setup. Strong attention to detail, documentation, and data accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineers and technical teams. Work Environment This position is based in a modern OEM manufacturing facility with a split floor and office environment.
The test team operates at the end of the production line, testing as vehicles roll directly off the line into a brand-new test area. You will work around production equipment, test benches, data acquisition systems, and electrical measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and voltmeters. The environment emphasizes organization and cleanliness through 5S practices. Onsite amenities include a medical clinic, cafeteria, and fitness facility, supporting health and well-being.
Work involves both hands-on activities on the shop floor and documentation or data review in an office setting, with attire appropriate for a manufacturing and test lab environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
