Job Title: Tig Welder Job Description This role focuses on precision TIG and MIG welding in a clean, temperature-controlled shop environment. You set up and operate TIG and orbital welding equipment, work from detailed drawings, and contribute to high-quality fabrication and assembly of stainless steel and structural components. The position combines hands-on welding, blueprint interpretation, and quality inspection to support the organization’s commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, including purging and regulating current and voltage to meet specific job requirements. Select appropriate filler rod type and size based on material, weld specifications, and drawings. Set up and operate orbital welding equipment for pipe and other applicable applications. Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, pipe, structural components, and smaller welds in the spray department.
Read and interpret detailed blueprints and work instructions to complete welding and fabrication tasks accurately. Lift, carry, and position parts of various sizes, shapes, and weights, up to a maximum of 50 pounds, in a safe and controlled manner. Carry out fabrication tasks, including assembly and pipe fitting, using hand tools and mechanical tools as required. Conduct quality inspections on completed welds and assemblies to ensure they meet internal standards and customer specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area within the shop, following safety and quality procedures at all times. Demonstrate flexibility by completing miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support overall organizational needs. Actively participate in continuous quality improvement efforts and contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction. Essential Skills Around 2+ years of TIG welding experience in a fabrication or similar environment.
Proficiency in TIG welding, including setting up equipment, purging, and regulating current and voltage. Experience with MIG welding for various materials and applications. Ability to set up and operate orbital welding equipment. Strong blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret detailed drawings and instructions. Hands-on fabrication experience, with an emphasis on custom work rather than high-volume production welding.
Experience in pipe welding and pipe fitting. Structural welding experience on various materials and configurations. Ability to perform quality inspection on welded parts and assemblies. Capability to safely lift and carry parts up to 50 pounds. ASME certification with five years of work-related experience. Demonstrated integrity in daily work and decision-making. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with stainless steel components and assemblies. smaller welds and detailed work, such as in a spray department or similar setting. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
