Warehouse Receiver Job Description This role focuses on accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming goods in a busy warehouse environment. You verify delivered items against purchase orders and invoices, unload trucks safely, ensure products are stored correctly, and process returns when items are incorrect or unsatisfactory. You play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records and resolving any discrepancies or delivery issues quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities Receive purchase orders with invoices and packing lists and verify that all documentation is complete and accurate. Inspect incoming deliveries to ensure they match purchase order and invoice details, including quantities and product specifications. Receive and sign for deliveries, confirming that all items are delivered in good condition. Unload deliveries from trucks safely and efficiently, including lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.

Process returns for incorrect, damaged, or unsatisfactory items in accordance with warehouse procedures. Organize and store received items in the appropriate warehouse locations to support efficient picking and inventory control. Update inventory systems with received items, ensuring accurate and timely data entry in warehouse management and inventory software. Communicate with vendors to report delays, discrepancies, or problems with deliveries and help resolve issues promptly.

Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, deliveries, returns, and related documentation for audit and tracking purposes. Follow and promote warehouse safety regulations and best practices while handling, moving, and storing goods. Use warehouse management systems and related software to track inventory, receipts, and stock movements. Work collaboratively with warehouse colleagues and other departments to support smooth warehouse operations.

Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Previous warehouse experience. Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly. Good communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, drivers, and warehouse team members. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries, documents, and storage locations. Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations and safe material-handling practices.

Physical dexterity and stamina to unload trucks, move products, and perform repetitive warehouse tasks. Experience operating in a warehouse environment and handling warehouse equipment as required. Skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs. Computer experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using warehouse management systems such as SAP, ERP systems, Oracle, or similar software.

Experience as a warehouse receiver or in a similar receiving or inventory control role. Familiarity with warehouse procedures for returns, discrepancies, and stock adjustments.
