Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description This role is based in a busy medical device distribution center that services hospitals across a large region. As a warehouse worker focused on order picking, you use an RF scanner to locate products throughout the facility, pick and organize orders, and move them to the shipping area so they can be sent to hospitals quickly and accurately. You begin each day by logging into your RF scanner, reviewing the orders assigned to you, and then putting away received inventory before moving on to picking and staging shipments in the appropriate bins.
Responsibilities Use an RF scanner to locate, pick, and verify products throughout the warehouse. Review daily order assignments on the RF device and plan picking activities accordingly. Put away incoming orders and replenish stock in designated locations as required. Select and organize pick bins based on shipment type, such as blue bins for FedEx and yellow bins for Purolator orders. Load picked items onto carts and transport them safely to the shipping area.
Ensure high levels of accuracy in order picking, as products are shipped directly to hospitals. Handle boxes and products weighing up to 50 lbs while following safe lifting practices. Use computer systems, including SAP, to confirm inventory locations, process orders, and update shipment information. Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, to coordinate with team members and follow work instructions.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet daily shipping deadlines. Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with facility standards. Collaborate with a small warehouse team to support overall distribution operations. Follow established procedures for FedEx and Purolator shipments to ensure proper routing and documentation. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in order picking within a warehouse or distribution environment.
Proficiency using an RF scanner for locating and picking products. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift. Strong English verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills for working with warehouse systems and documentation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Stable and consistent work history demonstrating reliability and commitment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using SAP or similar warehouse management systems. Previous experience handling shipments with FedEx or Purolator. Comfort working with RF scanning technology and related warehouse equipment. Attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy, especially when working with medical products. Willingness to be cross-trained in shipping, receiving, and putaway tasks.
