Job Title: Warehouse Material Handler Job Description The Warehouse Material Handler plays a key role in daily warehouse operations by accurately fulfilling customer orders, organizing and maintaining inventory, loading and unloading delivery trucks, and putting away stock. This position also supports the kitting department by organizing parts for larger projects, charging batteries, and performing light disassembly and assembly tasks.
The role requires consistent attention to detail, safe operation of warehouse equipment, and effective collaboration with team members to meet productivity goals. Responsibilities Pull and prepare customer orders using RF scanners and established warehouse procedures. Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments, then stock and organize inventory in designated locations. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and assist with forklift operations if trained and certified.
Label, palletize, wrap, and stage products accurately and safely for shipment. Assist with light assembly, custom orders, and kitting projects to support larger customer initiatives. Support the kitting department by organizing parts, charging batteries, and performing some disassembly as needed. Help load customer pickups, load and unload trucks, and process product returns in a timely manner. Perform regular inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records in coordination with inventory systems.
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe by following housekeeping and safety standards. Work closely with team members and supervisors to support daily warehouse operations and meet productivity and accuracy goals. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe material handling practices. Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership to resolve issues related to orders, inventory, or equipment.
Essential Skills 1–3 years of prior experience working in a warehouse environment. Proven experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tasks. Ability to operate a pallet jack safely and efficiently. Experience with loading and unloading trucks and handling various types of freight. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 3–4 feet and load product into trucks. Comfort working on feet for most of the shift in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Basic math and reading skills in English to interpret work orders, inventory labels, and safety information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory and order fulfillment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while meeting deadlines and productivity targets. Good communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications A minimum of one year of experience in a similar material handling, warehousing, or logistics position is preferred.
Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, or logistics operations is a plus. Experience with RF devices and inventory systems is a plus. Basic understanding of inventory systems and order processing workflows is beneficial. Experience with forklift operation is a plus; on-site training and certification can be provided. Familiarity with kitting, custom order handling, and light assembly work is advantageous.
