Job Title: Welder/Fabricator Job Description This role focuses on fabricating and welding structural, miscellaneous, and precision steel products according to detailed specifications and shop drawings. You will work on a variety of components, including beams, columns, railings, stairs, and platforms for cleanroom tools, using your technical expertise to produce high-quality, accurate parts. Responsibilities Fabricate and weld structural steel components such as beams, columns, railings, stairs, ladders, frames, and platforms to meet project specifications.
Interpret and work from blueprints and shop drawings to plan and execute fabrication and welding tasks accurately. Perform MIG flux core welding (3G) on a variety of steel products, ensuring strong, clean, and precise welds. Fit and assemble steel parts prior to welding, verifying measurements and alignment using tape measures and other tools. Operate fabrication equipment, including machining tools, saws, grinders, CNC plasma cutting machines, and CNC machining/drill line equipment.
Carry out saw cutting, grinding, and finishing operations to prepare and complete steel components to required standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop procedures and safety guidelines at all times. Work independently to manage assigned projects and tasks, meeting quality, safety, and productivity expectations. Support general labor and material handling activities as needed to keep fabrication and welding operations running smoothly.
Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules based on business needs while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Essential Skills Proven experience as a welder/fabricator working with structural, miscellaneous, and precision steel products. Strong proficiency in MIG flux core welding (3G), with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds. Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and shop drawings.
Hands-on experience with beam fabrication and column fabrication. Experience fabricating stairs, railings, ladders, frames, and similar structural components. Competence in fitting steel components prior to welding, including accurate measuring and layout. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned fabrication and welding tasks. General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine operation in a fabrication environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with machining operations in a steel fabrication setting. Skill in saw cutting and material preparation. Proficiency in grinding and finishing steel components to meet quality standards. Experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment. Experience operating CNC machining and drill line equipment. Comfort performing general labor tasks in a fabrication shop, including material handling and shop upkeep.
Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools accurately in layout and fitting work. Why Work Here? The facility is very clean and equipped with newer fabrication and machining equipment, including welding machines, saws, grinders, CNC plasma cutting systems, and CNC machining/drill line tools. Projects span a wide range of industries, including government, commercial, construction, technology, industrial, testing, solar, energy, aerospace, and defense, providing varied and technically engaging work.
