Welder & Metal Fabricator Blair, NE Job Description The Welder & Metal Fabricator welds, cuts, shapes, and assembles metal components to build and repair a wide range of structures, equipment, and machinery. This role interprets blueprints, sets up and operates welding machines, and ensures that all fabricated components meet established quality and safety standards. The position involves working with various metals, including steel and aluminum, using MIG and stick welding techniques to produce precise and durable results.
Responsibilities Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements and fabrication details. Set up, operate, and adjust welding machines and related equipment for MIG and stick welding processes. Weld, cut, shape, and assemble metal components to fabricate and repair structures, equipment, and machinery. Work with various metals, including steel and aluminum, ensuring proper preparation, alignment, and fit-up of parts.
Inspect welds and fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications and safety standards. Perform basic measurements, layout, and marking of materials prior to cutting and welding. Maintain welding tools, equipment, and work area in safe, clean, and orderly condition. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while handling welding equipment and materials. Essential Skills Proficiency in welding, including MIG and stick welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings. Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, including cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blair, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
