Job Title: Welder Job Description This entry-level welding position focuses on fabricating a wide variety of steel products using flux core and MIG welding techniques. You will perform flat and vertical welds with solid wire in a small, laid-back fabrication shop, applying basic welding skills without the need for layout work. Responsibilities Perform welding on a variety of steel products using flux core and MIG processes.
Complete flat and vertical welds with solid wire in accordance with job specifications. Follow fabrication instructions to assemble and weld steel components accurately. Operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools safely and efficiently. Inspect welds for quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area in an industrial fabrication environment.
Adhere to all safety procedures and shop guidelines while working around machines and equipment. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and project timelines. Essential Skills At least 6 months of general welding experience. At least 6 months of flux core welding experience. At least 6 months of MIG welding experience. Ability to perform flat and vertical welds on steel products. Basic fabrication skills using welding and related tools.
Ability to work with flux core, MIG, and solid wire welding processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications No formal qualifications required. Willingness to learn and grow in an entry-level fabrication environment. Ability to follow instructions and work independently once trained. Work Environment The role is based in a small fabrication shop with an industrial environment and various machines in operation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windber, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
