Job Description We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Housekeeping Houseperson.
Responsibilities The Housekeeping Houseperson will be responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department.   The Housekeeping Houseperson will assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens.   Practice safety standards at all times  Deliver linens and other supplies to room attendants and closets.   Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas.   Respond to guests’ requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies in a timely and efficient manner.   Clean other designated areas such as public restroom, fixtures, vending areas, and storage areas.   Monitor and control supplies and amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.   Collect items for recycling.  Maintain the cleanliness of guest corridor areas.  Responsible for picking up of soiled linen and trash from closets and disposing/sorting accordingly  House Attendant will assist with cleaning and shampooing of guest room carpets as well as corridor carpets  Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor  Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.   Previous experience of one year is preferred.   Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.
Able to communicate both written and verbally.   Reading and counting is essential.   Requires basic knowledge of housekeeping  Needs to have an aptitude to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that would create a positive outcome, in a hot and challenging work environment.  Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds  Must have ability to work with others to create attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision.    Must have ability to secure minimum levels of skills and abilities that would allow for a proficient job orientation based on specific tasks and methods.  This is to provide a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations that would protect both the employee and coworkers.  Physical Demands      Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.  Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
