Individuals interested in joining DPH should expect to work in person across these settings. The San Francisco Health Network, Population Health, Behavioral Health Services, and Administration are the core divisions of SFDPH. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers.

The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response. Behavioral Health Services operates in conjunction with the San Francisco Health Network and provides a range of mental health and substance use treatment services.

DPH Leaves Management and Workers Compensation Program The Leaves Management and Workers’ Compensation Program helps our employees understand the complex array of leaves available under local, state, and federal law, whether routine or more complex. At the individual employee level, we support protected leaves, help them navigate work through life’s journey and support them when they are injured and seek support at work.

The Workers Compensation Program offers leaves options and other resources to employees injured at work, in partnership with the City’s HR. Job Description The Opportunity  The San Francisco Department of Public Health operates one of the nation’s most complex and integrated public health systems. DPH is seeking an experienced HR Leaves and Workers’ Compensation Supervisor to drive operational excellence and deliver responsive, employee-centered service across these complex programs.

The position will lead program operations, strengthen customer service, improve coordination, and ensure the consistent administration of applicable laws, policies, and employee protections.   This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful department-wide impact by improving how employees and managers experience HR services when navigating leave, workplace injuries, and return to work. The HR Leaves and Workers’ Compensation Supervisor leads a team of HR professionals and serves as a consultant, advisor, and subject-matter expert.
