Job Description We are looking for a Senior Observability / DevOps Engineer with deep hands-on experience in Datadog administration, automation, and migration projects. The project involves migration of a large Datadog environment from a child organization into a new standalone organization.
You will play a key role in the migration of a large-scale Datadog environment, ensuring successful migration of monitoring, observability, logging, integrations, security configurations, and associated automation. This role requires strong experience with Datadog administration, Datadog account migrations, Terraform-based automation, AWS and Kubernetes integrations, and enterprise observability platforms.
Responsibilities Plan and execute Datadog organization/account migration activities. Migrate monitors, dashboards, SLOs, log pipelines, indexes, archives, and retention configurations. Support migration of Datadog integrations, agents, API keys, RBAC, SAML/SSO, and SCIM configurations. Leverage Datadog API, CLI, and Terraform Datadog Provider to automate migration activities. Validate migrated monitoring, observability, and security configurations before cutover.
Support AWS and Kubernetes/EKS integrations. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure migration accuracy and operational readiness. Troubleshoot migration issues and support stabilization activities. Qualifications 7+ years experience in Observability, DevOps or Platform Engineering. 5+ years of Datadog implementation, administration, or migration experience. Deep hands-on experience with Datadog administration.
Proven experience with Datadog organization and account migrations. Experience with Datadog parent/child organization or multi-org migrations. Experience with Datadog API, CLI, and Terraform Datadog Provider. Experience with Datadog monitors, dashboards, SLOs, Agents, APM, and distributed tracing. Experience with Datadog Log Management, including pipelines, indexes, archives, and retention configurations.
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS integrations. Experience with RBAC administration, SAML/SSO and SCIM implementations, and API/Application key management, rotation, and access controls. Experience with CI/CD and automation integrations. Nice to Have Datadog Certified Professional. Datadog Partner or consulting background. Enterprise observability architecture experience. Datadog Synthetics, Private Locations, and CSPM/security monitoring experience.
PagerDuty, Slack, ServiceNow, and webhook integration experience. Experience validating monitoring parity in dual-running environments before cutover.
