As part of the continued development of our business in Spain, we are looking for a   Business Development Lead with strong freight forwarding expertise to drive AsstrA’s growth across the Spanish market.

The successful candidate will initially join in a senior commercial capacity, with a strong focus on new business development, client acquisition and market growth, while also contributing to broader commercial performance, team effectiveness and business development initiatives in Spain. This is a hands-on role for an experienced commercial professional who combines strong sales capabilities with leadership experience, business acumen and a solid understanding of international freight forwarding.

  Key Responsibilities:  Business Development & Market Growth Develop and execute business development initiatives to support AsstrA’s growth strategy in Spain. Identify and develop new business opportunities across global accounts, regional accounts and SME clients. Actively drive new customer acquisition and build a strong, sustainable commercial pipeline. Personally lead key client meetings, commercial negotiations and strategic sales activities.

Monitor market developments, industry trends and competitor activity to identify new commercial opportunities. Contribute to defining priority transportation products, trade lanes and market segments. Support the continued expansion of AsstrA’s presence and customer base across the Spanish market.  Sales & Commercial Performance Manage the sales funnel from opportunity identification through quotation, negotiation and deal closure.

Lead prospecting, client engagement, contract negotiations and tender activities. Develop systematic approaches to customer acquisition, retention and account development. Monitor sales plans, turnover, gross profit, margins, conversion and other key commercial KPIs. Contribute to profitability and overall financial performance of the Spanish business. Work closely with internal operational and pricing teams to develop competitive and commercially sustainable solutions.

  Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key local and international clients. Act as a trusted commercial partner, understanding clients’ logistics requirements and developing tailored solutions. Strengthen relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for further business development. Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and long-term cooperation.

Participate in strategic customer meetings, tenders and negotiations.  Freight Forwarding & Logistics Solutions Work across international freight forwarding products, including Road FTL/LTL, Air, Ocean, Multimodal and Project Logistics. Cooperate with operational teams to develop effective door-to-door and complex transportation solutions. Contribute to the development of Project Logistics opportunities, including Industrial Project Logistics where relevant.

Maintain a strong understanding of operational processes, service quality, pricing and profitability. Support the development of relationships with key transport partners, agents and subcontractors.  Leadership & Business Management Contribute to the development and performance of the local team. Help establish commercial priorities, improve cooperation and drive execution. Support the development of efficient internal processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Monitor business and operational KPIs and contribute to performance improvement initiatives. Cooperate closely with AsstrA teams, functional leaders and colleagues in other countries. Represent AsstrA professionally within the Spanish logistics market.   Required Experience:
