2nd shift Machine Operator

  Hours: Monday – Friday 1st shift: 2pm-10pm  * Initial training for this role will take place on 1st shift for the first 1-2 months of employment. * Essential Functions Checking work order, properly select processed material checking for weight, alloy, size and quality. Operate an edging machine. Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.

Set-up an edger machine. Identify the correct edging tools to utilize. Run material according to specifications of work order. Check material - free of burrs, scratches, coil set, and within camber specifications. Properly identify all edged material and complete all documentation. May require the repair of minor mechanical problems. Group completed coils together by work order in designated area.

Maintain work area in a clean and neat fashion. Math aptitude/setup calculations testing Troubleshoot any issues and concerns Required Education and Experience: Education and/or experience – High School degree or equivalent. Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment preferred. Math – Must be able to use and understand simple mathematics, using addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals.

Knowledge of the Standard/Imperial measuring system is required and knowledge of the metric system is a plus. Understanding and use of basic measuring instruments required; micrometers, digital calipers, tape measure is required.
