Together, we deliver high-quality benefits and services to support a growing caregiver workforce.  We are a nonprofit – passionate about revolutionizing the future of in-home care, and are looking for others to join our smart, collaborative and kind team.      The Details:   In-Office Requirements:  This role requires up to 10% presence at our Downtown Seattle headquarters.  Standard business hours Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.  Remote Work Eligibility:  For employees residing outside of the Seattle metropolitan area, remote work may be considered in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, ID, FL, OR, TN, VA, or WA.  Final approval is determined through a management review process.

Category: Full-Time, FLSA Exempt, Regular, Non-Union Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform tasks that may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, with or without reasonable accommodation.   About the Position: The Controller is a key finance leader and trusted business partner responsible for ensuring the integrity of the SEIU 775 Benefits Group's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance activities.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller oversees the organization's accounting function through a combination of internal leadership and strategic management of outsourced accounting service providers. This position partners closely with the Director of Investment Strategy & Financial Operations to provide comprehensive financial stewardship to the Benefits Group and related trusts.

The Controller directly supervises accounting staff and works collaboratively within Finance, across departments, with external partners, and with senior leadership to advance the mission and goals of the organization.     You Will: Oversee the organization's accounting function, month-end close and financial statement processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting; Maintain accounting controls, policies and procedures consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, nonprofit reporting requirements, grant requirements, and organizational policies; Serve as the primary relationship manager for outsourced accounting service providers through close collaboration, monitoring service delivery, reviewing work quality and resolving issues; Lead the organization's biennial budgeting process, coordinating budget development across departments and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives; Oversee budget administration throughout the biennium including monitoring budget-to-actual performance, analyzing variances, leading budget reforecasting processes and recommending corrective actions as needed; Lead the annual financial statement audit and other external reviews, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors; Lead initiatives to improve accounting processes, financial systems, reporting capabilities, and organizational efficiencies; Build strong cross-functional relationships and provide financial guidance to leadership and leaders throughout the organization; Promote strong collaboration within the Finance team, including close partnership with the Director of Investment Strategy & Financial Operations to ensure alignment between accounting and financial operations, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy; Perform other duties as assigned.
