SALARY RANGE: $ 120,000-$140,000, discretionary bonus eligible. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing the Human Resources function for the hotel, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll oversight, leave administration, workers’ compensation, training, performance management, employee engagement, health and safety programs, and policy and employment law compliance.

Serves as a strategic business partner and to the General Manager and hotel leadership team to support a service-oriented culture, operational excellence, employee retention, and consistent administration of company policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.  Executive committee member representing HR strategy and compliance. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Administrative and Compliance Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems, including new hires, terminations, job changes, benefits, training, leave, workers’ compensation, and other employment information.

Administer Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, handbook requirements, labor law postings, personnel files, and employment records in compliance with company standards and applicable laws. Administer benefit programs, employee communications, health and wellness programs, and employee engagement initiatives. Administer leave programs, reasonable accommodations, workers’ compensation claims, and return-to-work processes in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Support hotel safety programs, accident reporting, workplace safety communications, safety inspections, and OSHA/Cal/OSHA compliance coordination where applicable. Ensure disciplinary procedures, coaching documentation, performance documentation, workplace investigations, and termination recommendations are completed according to hotel guidelines and legal requirements. Maintain confidentiality of employee records, investigations, medical information, payroll information, personnel matters, and other sensitive information.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with brand standards, performance accountability, and audits oversight to drive operational excellence and consistency. Managing employee leaves of absence, facilitating the interactive accommodation process, and coordinating return-to-work programs in compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee all aspects of workers' compensation claim management, including incident reporting, investigation, leave coordination, ensure compliance and return-to-work planning.

Payroll Oversee hotel payroll administration and timekeeping processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with wage and hour laws. Partner with payroll and department managers to resolve payroll discrepancies, monitor labor costs, review timekeeping practices, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Support compliance with pay practices, meal and rest period practices where applicable, overtime, tips, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related requirements.

Recruitment Lead recruiting efforts, including job postings, sourcing, job fairs, interviews, screening, selection, onboarding, and candidate communications. Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug testing where applicable, employment eligibility verification, references, and other screening requirements. Partner with department managers to select qualified candidates who meet job requirements and demonstrate service-oriented behaviors consistent with hotel standards.

Review staffing levels, turnover, time-to-fill, retention trends, and workforce needs to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
