Production Supervisor (Days)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:   The position will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of operators to ensure the deliverables of a production department are met. ·         D rive continuous improvement in the value stream. ·          Manage and deliver and actively participate in Gemba ·          Partner with support departments to update and create standard work (Work Instructions) when necessary.

·          Train operators and ensure they follow detailed WIs, processes, and procedures to correctly produce products from the value stream. ·          Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a positive and constructive manner.

·          Confers with other supervisors to ensure the production schedule and commitments are maintained. ·          Partner with the quality, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials are resolved correctly in a timely manner.

·          Take corrective action on deviations. ·          Analyze key issues affecting the value stream and initiate action plans. ·          Highlight critical issues in the value stream to operations leadership.

·          Partner with internal customers and suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time. ·          Oversee the scheduling, production, and inspection required per the value stream. ·          Complete Daily Metric Tracker, scrap records, training records and other documentation as required.

·          Complete production reporting of work orders to ensure accuracy of component inventory. ·          Studies production work schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of job assignments.  Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/department schedules and goals.

·          Uphold 5S requirements and maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions. ·          Ensure a safe place to work. ·          Support communication by having daily pre-shift huddles.

·          Daily management of employee issues and problem resolution. ·          Ensure good teamwork among value stream employees. ·          Improve morale and motivation through implementation.

·          Complete annual performance reviews for operators in area of responsibility. ·          Comply with the policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the TCF Quality System. ·          Act, Live, and Behave by TCF Core Values ·          Other duties as assigned.
