This role translates business priorities, product performance, inventory position, and customer behavior into onsite merchandising strategies that improve product discoverability, conversion, average order value, and revenue. You’ll lead merchandising and optimization across navigation, search, product listing pages, product detail pages, collections, recommendations, launches, and campaigns.

Combining strong product storytelling with a data-driven approach, you’ll continuously evaluate performance and identify opportunities to improve how customers discover and shop 5.11 products online.   What You'll Do: Category & Commercial Ownership Own the merchandising strategy and weekly trading plan for assigned categories, product stories, and customer journeys. Analyze sales, conversion, inventory, product views, add-to-cart, sell-through, and customer behavior to identify opportunities and take action.

Develop product prioritization strategies across newness, best sellers, inventory depth, promotional products, slow-moving inventory, and strategic launches. Identify cross-sell, product attachment, and basket-building opportunities to increase average order value and customer relevance. Continuously evaluate category and product performance and adjust merchandising strategies based on results.   Onsite Merchandising & Product Discovery Lead product placement, sorting, collections, category pages, landing pages, onsite search merchandising, recommendations, and promotional merchandising.

Optimize navigation, filters, product listing pages (PLPs), and product detail page (PDP) pathways to improve product discovery and reduce customer friction. Define merchandising requirements for product attributes and taxonomy to support effective search, filtering, and category experiences. Develop compelling onsite product stories that balance customer needs, commercial opportunities, and brand and campaign strategies.

Identify opportunities to continuously improve how customers discover, evaluate, and shop products across the site.   Launches, Promotions & Testing Develop merchandising strategies for product launches and promotions, including product placement, hierarchy, storytelling, and post-launch optimization. Partner with Ecommerce Operations and other cross-functional teams to ensure merchandising strategies are accurately executed across the site.

Review and validate the customer experience across launches, promotions, and key commercial moments. Develop and execute merchandising tests across sorting, navigation, messaging, recommendations, landing experiences, and product presentation. Analyze testing and performance results and translate findings into clear learnings and future merchandising actions.   Performance & Cross-Functional Partnership Lead merchandising performance recaps and communicate insights, opportunities, and recommended actions to leadership and cross-functional partners.

Partner with Product, Inventory Management, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, and Digital Product to align inventory, launches, content, and the overall digital customer experience. Use customer and business insights to influence merchandising priorities and support broader ecommerce strategies. Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Site Merchandisers, sharing best practices and helping maintain consistent merchandising standards across the site.
