Summary: The Distribution Center Supervisor - Casegoods Receiving oversees all receiving operations for casegoods products on the 1st shift, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This frontline leadership role plans and coordinates receiving activities, manages a team of warehouse associates, and ensures proper documentation, inspection, and put away of all casegoods inventory.

The Supervisor drives operational efficiency through data-driven decisions, continuous improvement initiatives, and effective team development while partnering with transportation, inventory, and warehouse teams to optimize the flow of goods into the distribution center. Responsibilities: Receiving Operations Leadership Oversee all casegoods receiving operations on 1st shift including unloading, inspection, documentation, and putaway activities Plan and coordinate daily receiving schedules to align with inbound shipment arrivals and warehouse capacity Monitor receiving productivity and ensure team meets or exceeds performance targets for cases received per hour Ensure accurate receipt of all inbound shipments including verification of quantities, product conditions, and order documentation Coordinate with transportation teams on carrier scheduling, dock assignments, and trailer movements Manage dock door assignments and optimize trailer flow to minimize wait times and maximize throughput Monitor receiving workflow and adjust resources to address bottlenecks or capacity constraints Quality & Accuracy Ensure all received casegoods are inspected for damage, defects, and compliance with quality standards Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders, advanced shipping notices (ASN), and bill of lading documentation Process discrepancies including shortages, overages, damages, and quality issues through appropriate systems Generate quality alerts and coordinate with Quality Assurance teams on product issues Ensure proper labeling, identification, and documentation of all received inventory Maintain receiving accuracy targets and implement controls to prevent errors Team Leadership & Development Lead, train, and develop a team of receiving associates to build technical skills and operational excellence Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, feedback, and developmental guidance Make employment decisions and recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations Foster a positive team environment focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Manage staffing levels and coordinate breaks, lunches, and coverage to maintain productivity Communicate company and departmental goals through daily huddles, team meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessions Safety & Compliance Champion all safety programs and ensure a safe work environment for all receiving associates Conduct safety walks, audits, and inspections within the receiving area Ensure employees wear proper PPE (personal protecti
