The Assistant Registered Nurse (RN) Manager is assigned to the Combine Critical Care Unit in the Inpatient Medicine Service at the Long Beach VA Healthcare System. Major duties: The Assistant Nurse Manager will serve with line authority to the unit Nurse Manager in providing leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff. Provides direct patient care to meet operational need of the unit. Performs delegated duties, i.e., develops time schedules, completes performance evaluations, and initiates or recommends disciplinary actions, responsible for performance improvement, customer service/patient satisfaction, patient and employee safety, employee relations, standards of care and practice, the work environment, and accreditation and regulatory standards.

Actively develops and manages collaborative partnerships with physicians and other clinicians. Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). You may be required to serve a probationary period.
