About the Position: As a Deckhand assigned to the Mat Sinking Unit, you will be assigned to accomplish a combination of tasks in connection with the making up and breaking of tows. -The duty location will be wherever the Mat Sinking Unit or Tender Harrison is located. -This position is a Permanent, Full-Time, Seasonal Appointment. -The position is advertised externally under Vacancy CEDC-26-13060253-DHA Two positions located in MSU Maintenance and one position located on the Tender Harrison.
Major duties: Secure floating plant with manila and synthetic lines, cables, wire straps, rachets, etc.,Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks such as washing down decks, chip-ping paint and rust from bulkheads, timber heads, cavels, deck equipment, and painting.,Greasing moving deck equipment such as capstans, tow winch, or electric cranes to ensure working condition.,Assisting other craftsmen with maintenance and repairs.
