Deputy Directorate Head for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships

This position is for the Deputy Directorate Head in the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) at the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). Major duties: The Deputy Directorate Head is responsible for directing and supervising the overall structure and effectiveness of the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP), in accordance with the NSF Strategic Plan and Agency priorities.

The incumbent is responsible for administering programs and activities supporting research, innovation, and workforce development in TIP. This responsibility includes support for testbeds; interdisciplinary research centers; large, coordinated field projects; and support for individual investigators and research groups. The incumbent may supervise professional, technical, and administrative personnel.

The incumbent reports to the TIP Directorate Head and fully participates with the NSF Assistant Director for TIP, TIP Directorate Head, and other senior organizational leadership in the management of their assigned technical activities. The incumbent works collaboratively with the Assistant Director, Directorate Head, and the Chief of Business Operations. This position provides executive level leadership and direction for their specific assigned organizational units.

The incumbent provides management and direction to unit activities. The incumbent may serve as Acting Assistant Director and/or Directorate Head in the Assistant Director's and/or Directorate Head's absence, respectively. Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Subject to a 1-year SES probationary period (unless already completed). Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
