The Office of Financial Management (AFM) provides financial oversight and information on the use of agency financial resources. AFM is responsible for financial and travel policy, financial and acquisition systems, cost accounting, capitalization of the agency¿s $12.3 billion portfolio of national airspace system assets, financial reporting, financial internal controls, and oversight of the agency¿s financial internal controls programs and reimbursable agreements.

Major duties: Performs basic but progressively more difficult assignments under the close direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Typically acts as a member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility. Applies basic knowledge applicable to his/her discipline and limited experience to accomplish assignments. Typical assignments include: Provides support in the formulation of budget requests by gathering, extracting, reviewing, and consolidating a variety of narrative information and statistical data.

Assists in the development of materials that communicate and present analyses, results and findings to key stakeholders; including FAA executives. For all analyses and reviews, the incumbent prepares formal documentation and presents plans, results, and recommendations to senior management and others. Monitors and tracks the execution of financial plans. Prepares reports and performs other miscellaneous technical tasks in support of budget and financial management functions.

Assists in developing financial models for use in conducing financial or statistical analysis and forecasting. Conducts research on legislation and applies policies and procedures to identify problems on FAA appropriations. Coordinates with a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional to plan time and use assigned resources to accomplish tasks. Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit with a manager and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and discuss the statuses of assignments.

In some specialties, may have contacts with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, and discussing customers¿ situations. Established policies/procedures provide detailed guidance for almost all assignments, with little or no room for discretion. Works under detailed instructions provided by a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.

Regularly refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional for guidance. Work is reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality. Work activities typically support the work of other employees and contribute to activities of the organizational level. Requirements: We are not accepting applications from noncitizens.
