This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The employee uses a knowledge of the refrigeration cycle of a variety of commercial and industrial systems to locate and check elements such as those whichcontrol pressure, temperature, and the running time of the various mechanisms.
Major duties: Installs, repairs, overhauls, and performs service and preventive maintenance on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial air conditioners, air compressors, boilers, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, ventilation systems, and water heaters.,Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment to trace and locate defects and malfunctions.,Makes periodic inspections and necessary adjustments to controls and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.,Repairs, installs, overhauls, and/or performs service and preventive maintenance to auxiliary equipment (motors, blowers, pilots, filters, thermostats, pressure stats, humid stats, relays, switches, etc.)
