Interdisciplinary (Supervisory Environmental Project Manager)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent serves as Supervisory Section Chief with responsibility for planning, programming, directing, reviewing, and insuring performance of the diverse environmental mission projects in the Sacramento District.

Major duties: Applies an extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods and practices as well as professional knowledge of the engineering and science disciplines.,Responsible for the direct supervision of a staff including multidisciplinary Program and Project Managers and support staff.,Recommends operating procedures and policies, assuring that they are in accordance with directives from higher authority- Oversees and assists Project Managers and Project Delivery Teams,Responsible for developing through the use of Architect-Engineer firms and in-house specialists, studies, reports, site investigations, and plans and specifications for remedial action cleanups of HTRW and MM sites.,Establishes priorities and assures timely completion and acceptable quantity and quality of work products.,Supervises subordinate Program and Project Managers consisting of specialists in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental protection specialists, and other engineers/scientists.,Serves as Supervisory Section Chief with responsibility for planning, programming, directing, reviewing, and ensuring performance of the diverse environmental mission projects in the Sacramento District.,Interfaces with other District staff to ensure overall coordination on assigned programs for planning, engineering, real estate, contracting, construction, and legal issues.,Interfaces with the customers, state and Federal government agencies, higher headquarters, and others interested in the FUDS, BRAC, EQ, and IRP programs.
