This position is located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center/Command (ALC), Engineering Services Division in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina. Major duties: You will serve as a/an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for maintains inventory control records and manage inventory items. Typical work assignments include: Determining the validity of recommended buys and taking appropriate action. Obtaining price quotes from vendors and initiating procurement actions in support of assigned items. Manages a budget and maintains awareness of availability of funds. Analyzing and determining current and future requirements for assigned items. Initiating procurement actions for the purchase and/or repair of components or parts based on demand history, stock position, reorder points and lead -time.
Coordinating with engineering personnel to initiate action to identify a source or develop new sources for problem items or no quote from vendors. Reviewing reports and determining if quantities of items procured support all assigned materials.
