About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Army Field Support Battalion, Supply & Services Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Major duties: Perform a variety of routine and special inspections of conventional, improved conventional and non-standard ammunition.,Assist quality assurance specialist during Quantity Distance Surveys and Standard Operating Procedures preparation and in maintaining a variety of publications, regulations, and files pertaining to work of the unit.,Perform periodic storage and special inspections to determine quality, safety, and condition of a wide variety of ammunition, sub-components, and materials used in the maintenance, modification, and manufacture of ammunition items.,Perform quality monitoring of maintenance operations, area inspections, and magazine storage inspections.,Inspect small arms ammunition, artillery and mortar ammunition, rockets, missiles, mines, grenades, bulk high explosives, propellants/propelling charges, fuses, primers, electo-explosive devices, and experimental and non-standard ammunition.,Inspect incoming material from other installations and vendors for damage in transit, safety, serviceability, and compliance with applicable references (mil-standards, drawings, and other publications).,Perform verification inspections in conjunction with ammunition maintenance or modification operations.
