The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School Athletic Department, Sports Medicine Division.
Major duties: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the USAFA Preparatory School Athletic Trainers Division, ensuring that subordinate Athletic Trainers comply with legal and regulatory requirement and meet customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Serves as the assigned team/unit Athletic Trainer Subject Matter Expert (SME) on injury prevention and reconditioning techniques.
Trains the trainers (cadre, human performance, and medical staff) on athletic training principles, concepts, and protocols. Provides clear, concise analyses of prevention and rehabilitation results through direct observations, interviews, surveys, and focused collection of athletic training performance metrics
