TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (PERSONAL PROPERTY/INSPECTOR)

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a quality control inspector providing information on matters associated with personal property operations. This position observes, documents, and evaluates carrier and contractor performance in moving personal property of DoD personnel.

Major duties: Observes, documents, and evaluates carrier and contractor performance. Counsels members regarding policies and procedures for the proper preparation of personal property for shipment and/or storage, including specialized items, to domestic and overseas locations. Prepares documentation reporting carrier performance using automated systems. Provides oversight of the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) contract.
