The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Kano. Position: State Administrative and Logistic Officer Contract: 2-year renewable contract Location: Ogun Closing Date: 21 September 2026 DUTIES · Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities, including training sessions, workshops, community sensitization events, and Youth Agribusiness Park activities (venue booking, transport, accommodation, materials and equipment).
· Manage the state office's administrative functions, including office supplies, filing systems, asset registers, utilities and vendor service contracts (cleaning, security, internet, etc.). · Coordinate local, low-value procurement in line with IITA procurement policy and the approved state work plan and submit consolidated procurement requests to the national Procurement Officer for items above the local threshold.
· Manage receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of program materials and starter kits (fertilizer, seeds, mechanization tools, feeds, fingerlings, etc.) to participants, maintaining accurate distribution records. · Supervise the State Driver(s), including vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking, fuel management and adherence to IITA's vehicle use and safety policies.
· Manage petty cash/imprest for the state office, prepare retirements in line with financial procedures, and submit timely expenditure returns to the Project Accountant. · Support human resources administration at state level, including onboarding of state-based staff, attendance tracking, and coordination of travel and welfare arrangements.
· Liaise with local government offices, community leaders, facility managers and other local stakeholders on administrative and logistical matters related to Youth Agribusiness Parks and program activities. · Support the State Coordinator with the organization of monitoring visits, PMO/donor visits, and other program-related travel within the state.
· Ensure compliance with IITA's safeguarding, health and safety, and security protocols during all state-level activities. · Maintain organized administrative and logistics records/files for audit and reporting purposes and submitted periodic activity and logistics reports to the State Field Coordinator.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor Requirements QUALIFICATION Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain Management or a related field with a minimum of 2–4 years of relevant administrative and logistics experience, preferably with an NGO, research institute or development program is required.
COMPETENCIES The ideal candidate must have: · Good working knowledge of the state/district of assignment, including local government structures and communities. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). · Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
