In addition to this all Eldora Ski Patrollers are responsible for care and transport of injured guests and emergency response within the ski area. Patrollers are expected to model exceptional risk management and safety practices, to educate guests on appropriate skiing and riding, enforce Eldora policies if necessary and to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the ski area. ACP 1’s are expected to focus on becoming proficient at basic patrol skills and procedures.
They should be working towards expanding their operational knowledge and skill set. They should be observant of any potential hazards or deviations from operational norms and raise these to Patrol leadership. They are expected to provide emergency medicine mentorship and training to BLS patrollers on an informal basis and may be asked to lead or assist formal trainings . Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ALS patient care and transport of injured guests.
Lead or assist medical trainings for patrol staff. Daily setup, maintenance, and storage of mountain signage, ropes and hazard markings. Educate guests and enforce ski area policies and relevant CO statutes and regulations. Be a visible presence on the hill to support guest service and safety initiatives. Model appropriate skiing or riding to the public based on skier density, snow conditions and terrain selection.
Terrain and facility risk management including conducting incident investigations and documentation. Hazard warning and mitigation, including avalanche hazard, in preparation for opening terrain. Leads by example for all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to and reinforcing a safe working environment for self, coworkers, work crews, and guests. All employees are expected to support Eldora’s corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in the Sustainable Transportation Program.
This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions , lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for guests. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.
