Fossil Creek Golf Club is seeking an experienced and motivated   Banquet Captain   to lead and support our banquet operations.

This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional service for   weddings, tournaments, private events, and club functions   while ensuring that every event meets the highest standards of hospitality. Key Responsibilities Lead banquet staff during weddings, tournaments, meetings, and special events. Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director to coordinate event setup, service, and breakdown.

Provide clear direction and guidance to servers, bartenders, and banquet staff. Ensure staff members understand event timelines, service standards, menus, and guest expectations. Maintain a professional and welcoming presence throughout each event. Assist with event setup, room layouts, food and beverage service, and breakdown. Monitor service throughout the event and quickly address guest or operational concerns.

Ensure proper presentation and service of food and beverages. Communicate effectively with culinary, beverage, and management teams. Help train and mentor banquet staff to maintain consistent service standards. Ensure all club policies, safety procedures, and responsible alcohol-service practices are followed. Assist the Food & Beverage Director with maintaining organization and efficiency during high-volume events.

Represent Fossil Creek Golf Club professionally and provide exceptional hospitality to members and guests. Qualifications & Experience Previous banquet, hospitality, restaurant, or event-service experience required. Experience with weddings and golf tournaments strongly preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of banquet service and event operations.

Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to provide proper guidance and direction to a team. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Food & Beverage Director and management team. Must be available to work a   flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, weddings, and tournament events.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and hands-on experience in banquet service. The Banquet Captain will work closely with the   Food & Beverage Director   to ensure smooth event execution, proper staff guidance, and an outstanding guest experience. The ideal Banquet Captain is a   natural leader who leads by example , understands the importance of teamwork, and takes pride in providing exceptional service.

They should be dependable, professional, organized, and comfortable taking charge of a banquet team while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.
