In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester.

This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. In good disciplinary standing. Must be located in the U.S.

The Center for Innovation and Impact (CII) Student Assistant supports the continued development and growth of the Center’s programs, initiatives, communications, and operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the student employee will assist with program development, research, communications and online presence, event support, resource development, and special projects that help expand the Center’s reach and impact across the Berklee community.

This position is well suited for a reliable, organized, creative, and entrepreneurial student who is interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, the creative industries, and building new programs and initiatives. Because the Center is continuing to develop its programming and presence, the Student Assistant will have an opportunity to contribute ideas, conduct research, and help shape projects as they evolve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Program Development & Research Support the Managing Director in researching, developing, and organizing new programs, events, workshops, resources, and initiatives for the Center. Research trends, organizations, programs, companies, educational models, and emerging practices related to innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, and the creative industries.

Conduct benchmarking research on innovation and entrepreneurship centers, academic programs, accelerators, incubators, and other relevant organizations. Help identify potential programming ideas, speakers, partners, collaborators, resources, and opportunities for students. Assist with gathering and organizing information to support the development and evaluation of new Center initiatives. Prepare research summaries, presentations, spreadsheets, and other materials to support planning and decision-making.

Communications, Digital Presence & Content Assist in developing and maintaining the Center’s online and digital presence. Support the creation and management of the Center’s social media channels and content strategy. Create and help schedule content highlighting Center programs, events, opportunities, student projects, speakers, partners, and other relevant activities. Assist with developing and updating website content, program descriptions, resource pages, and other digital materials.

Create posters, flyers, social media graphics, digital signage, presentations, and other promotional materials for Center programs and initiatives. Assist with drafting and formatting announcements, newsletters, event promotions, and other communications. Help establish and maintain an organized content calendar. Capture basic photo and video content at Center events and programs when needed. Help develop a consistent and professional voice and visual presence for the Center across communication channels.
